Richard's first experience with commercial software came when he worked for his father's educational software company. He did beta testing for Cross Educational Software and wrote two software titles. He mastered Unix while studying physics. He has extensive experience in data analysis from his studies in high energy physics. He has also developed several gaming websites including minesweeper.org and ajaxchess.com. He operates an ISP and webhosting company, emailXL.com. He has worked for Bank of America for 6 years supporting customer-facing websites and trading applications.

Richard has a BA in Economics from Louisiana State University and a PhD in Physics from University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has 25 years of experience in the software industry, 16 years of Unix experience, and 13 years of web development experience.
