The Adder Trees, Patterns test uses various miscellaneous patterns across the 56 tower grid, but primarily in the first 14 towers. The patterns are specified in an array of matrices in the include file:

Currently up to 72 patterns are defined for the pattern test. Some of the patterns represent simple digital tests with patterns of alternating bits like AA(hex) and 55(hex), etc.; others roughly simulate patterns of energy clusters in the trigger towers.
