The Adder_Test main menu appears upon entry into the program. From the main menu, the following options are available:
Adder Test Menu
1: Select Adders to Test
2: Select Tests to Run
3: Run Tests
4: Peek at Error Log Window
5: Expert Menu
6: Map All Adders
7: Map All CFLT Hardware IDs
8: Map Single CFLT Crate
99: Exit
Options 1,2 and 3 control the testing of the Adder cards. Option 4 allows you to peek behind the menu to see previously scrolled lines from the error logger window. Note that the error logger window starts at line 19 on the screen. It would behoove you to have a long terminal screen in order to see more of the error logger text at one time; however, you may use the program with a minimum of 24 screen lines.
Option 5 enters the Expert Menu which has subsequent options for interactive pattern loading and formatted data dumping. (See following sections for more details.) Options 6,7 and 8 display register information about the current state of the CFLT. Option 7 is particularly useful as a quick way to see which cards are alive, i.e., responding to VME addressing; this option quickly indicates missing cards or changed thumbwheel switches.
The suggested way of exiting the program is to choose option 99 from the main menu. However, if the program hangs due to a hardware or network problems, type ctrl-C to exit the program in an almost nice way.
