CFLT - Essential Reading

To understand how the system works, I recommend the following literature:

• NIM article: NIM A355(1995)278-294
• design specification ZEUS Note 89-085
• Schematics
  The schematics can be viewed online, but I recommend the printed version available at Jade hall, South hall and the main Wisconsin office.
  At the minimum, a CFLT expert should completely understand the TEC schematics.
• all the other CFLT ZEUS notes
• CFLT internal notes

Then one should understand the diagnostic software, documented on the web.

The next step is getting the CFLT ready for data taking:

• finding noisy channels
• calibration

And during data taking, one needs to monitor the CFLT:

• DQM
  • documentation of DQM
  • current DQM results and status
• Slow control

What I plan to add to this document:

• Detailed instructions for starting up the system
